When the rite calls for visible movement – a procession down a long aisle, a circumambulation of the altar at concelebration, the elevation at a televised feast – the Rituum gives the body of the vestment room to swing. The skirt is intentionally fuller than our other albs, the sleeves wider, and the cotton-linen fabric chosen so the alb settles into soft, photogenic folds rather than hanging stiffly.
Signature feature: monastic hooded-yoke neckline
The yoke is a small soft hood detail that drops cleanly behind the neck without bulk under the chasuble. It echoes the Benedictine and Cistercian alb traditions where the hood was both decorative and practical, and gives the Rituum an unmistakable monastic profile in three-quarter and rear views.
Generous-cut construction with hidden hip pocket
The skirt is cut on full A-line panels rather than straight rectangles, so it walks open without flapping at the foot. A discreet welt pocket at the right hip – hidden in the side seam – holds a missalette ribbon, eyeglasses, or a small handkerchief without distorting the line. Side seams are flat-felled inside for laundering durability.
Cotton-linen fabric and rope cincture
65% cotton, 35% linen, mid-weight at approximately 210 GSM, in a soft natural white that warms slightly under candlelight. Includes a hand-knotted undyed flax rope cincture with traditional friars’ knots. Machine wash cold on delicate, tumble low or hang dry, and steam to release the soft cotton-linen creases that are part of the fabric’s character.

How is the Rituum different from your slimmer-cut albs?
The Rituum has a fuller skirt, wider sleeves, and a softer cotton-linen drape than the Albanor or Albion. Choose it when the rite involves long processions, concelebration, or strong visual presence in the sanctuary.
Is the hooded yoke a real working hood?
It is a small monastic hood detail at the back of the neck rather than a full functional cowl, sized to lay flat under a chasuble and add visual depth from behind without changing the alb’s basic silhouette.
Will the cotton-linen wrinkle in the sacristy?
A soft, lived-in surface is part of the Rituum’s character – it is not a sharp polyester twill. Hang it overnight to drop the major creases and steam any travel marks before vesting.
Does it include a cincture?
Yes, every Rituum ships with a hand-knotted undyed flax rope cincture in the traditional friars’ knot pattern.
