Description
A Formal Statement in Royal Blue
Azzuro was drafted as the centerpiece blue cassock in our line: a formal, ceremony-grade garment for ordinations, anniversary services, episcopal visitations, and the high-occasion Sundays where vesture matters as much as the sermon. The royal blue ground reads as confident and pastoral under sanctuary lighting, while the tonal jacquard pattern adds quiet depth without competing with a stole or pectoral cross.
Black Velvet Cuff Bands
The signature feature is a pair of two-inch black silk-velvet cuff bands inset into the lower sleeve, edged with single-needle stitching to keep the velvet flat and pressed even after repeated wear. The contrast reads instantly as formal vesture and frames the hands during preaching gestures, communion, and blessing.
Tailoring & Construction
Mandarin clerical collar shaped for a 1.5” white tab, full-length button placket with reinforced bar-tacks, two interior cassock pockets, a center back vent for clean sitting, and a hem hand-finished to weight evenly during processional walking. Side seams are felled for durability under stoles and chimere.
Fabric & Care
Premium polyester-rayon jacquard with a tonal medallion weave, dyed in a sealed deep royal blue that resists fading under stage and sanctuary lighting. Velvet cuffs in matching black silk-blend pile. Spot clean cuffs and dry clean only to preserve both the jacquard pattern and the pile.

FAQs
Is the velvet on the cuffs real silk velvet?
The cuff bands are a silk-blend velvet pile selected for color depth and resistance to crushing under repeated wear. The pile is single-needle topstitched at the edges to keep the band flat and free of curl.
How does Azzuro differ from other cassocks in the collection?
Azzuro is the formal jacquard cassock with velvet cuffs. Caelorum is the smooth-fabric daily cassock; Tranquilum has a Roman pellegrina shoulder cape; Velorum features a contrasting white button line and waist belt; Serenitas is a navy cassock with brass buttons.
Will the jacquard pattern read on camera and livestream?
The medallion weave is intentionally tonal so it adds depth without moiré or distracting movement on camera. Under typical sanctuary and stage lighting it reads as a rich, textured royal blue rather than a busy pattern.
How do I clean and store the cassock?
Dry clean only with attention to the velvet cuffs (specify pile direction). Store on a wide wooden hanger inside a breathable garment bag, with the cuffs supported flat to prevent crushing.
