Altior was drafted for ministers who refuse to choose between dignity and comfort during summer services, southern parishes, and travel preaching. The short-sleeve cut sits cleanly under a stole or cassock-vest without bunching, while the tailored chest and trim sleeve opening give the shirt a modern formal line rather than the boxy, generic shape common to mass-produced clerical shirts.
Removable Tab Collar System
The signature feature is a reinforced neckband with a shielded slot that holds a 1.5” white plastic tab collar securely yet releases easily for laundering. Two replacement tabs ship with every shirt so the white stays bright. The neckband is interlined with a soft fusible to prevent the rolling and fraying that ruins lower-tier clergy shirts after a few months of weekly wear.
Construction & Tailoring
Single-needle felled side seams, bar-tacked stress points at the placket and pocket corners, and a split back yoke deliver durability where polyester-blend shirts typically fail. Buttons are reinforced with cross-stitching and color-matched to disappear against the black ground. The hem is shaped for tucking, with a slightly longer back tail to keep the shirt anchored during preaching gestures.
Fabric & Care
65% combed cotton / 35% polyester broadcloth in a sealed deep-black dye that resists fading through repeated machine washes. The fabric is mid-weight, wrinkle-resistant without feeling synthetic, and finished to be tumble-dry safe on low. Recommended care: machine wash cold, tumble dry low, touch up with a warm iron on the placket and collar band as needed.

Is the white tab collar removable on the Altior shirt?
Yes. The Altior uses a reinforced neckband with a shielded slot that holds a 1.5-inch white plastic tab. The tab slides out before laundering and can be replaced with one of the two spare tabs included with every shirt.
Will the black fabric fade after repeated washing?
The broadcloth is dyed using a sealed deep-black process and finished to resist fading. We recommend cold-water machine washing and low-tumble drying to preserve color across years of weekly use.
Can I order Altior in long sleeve instead?
