A Modern Take on the Preaching Jacket
The Directus pushes the traditional Mandarin preaching jacket into a more contemporary register. Instead of a centered placket, the closure travels from a four-button cluster at the right shoulder down a single piped seam to the hem, producing a clean architectural diagonal that reads cleanly on stage and on broadcast camera without losing clerical seriousness.
Signature White Piping and Flap Pockets
A continuous bright-white piping outlines the entire front placket seam, frames each of the two horizontal flap pockets at hip, and runs around the cuff band of each sleeve. The contrast is crisp without crossing into novelty – it is the same visual language used in dress uniforms and choral robes, applied with restraint.
Shoulder-Button Closure and Construction
Four white-faced buttons cluster at the right shoulder and anchor the asymmetric closure. The shoulder is lightly structured to keep the placket flat, the chest is half-canvassed for clean drape, and a single back vent improves seated comfort during long services and pastoral counseling.
Wool-Blend Body and Care
The body is a mid-weight wool-polyester suiting in a true matte black so the bright-white piping reads cleanly without visual noise. Dry-clean only; spot-clean white piping carefully and store on a wide hanger inside a breathable garment bag.
