Description

A Light Blue Cassock for Marian & Seasonal Liturgy

Orbis was drafted for the lighter end of the blue spectrum — a soft sky-blue ground that traditionally signals Marian feasts, baptisms, infant funerals, and seasonal liturgy in some Anglican and Catholic parish plans. The shade is selected to read clearly from the back of the church without becoming pastel under sanctuary lighting.

Embroidered White Cross Cuffs

The signature feature is a single embroidered white Latin cross set into each lower sleeve cuff, sewn directly into the fabric (not appliquéd) so the cross stays flat and crisp through repeated wear and care. The detail reads as quietly liturgical without crossing into ornament-heavy territory.

Tailoring & Construction

Mandarin clerical collar shaped for a 1.5” white tab, full-length button placket, two interior pockets, felled side seams, and a tape-finished hem. Buttons are color-matched and reinforced with cross-stitching to disappear into the lighter ground.

Fabric & Care

Mid-weight polyester-rayon broadcloth in a sealed light blue, finished with white embroidery thread that holds its brightness through dry cleaning. Dry clean only; do not bleach, as bleach will distort both the blue and the white embroidery.

FAQs

When is light blue used liturgically?

Light blue is associated in many Anglican and Catholic parish plans with Marian feasts, the season of Advent in some local uses, baptisms, and infant funerals. Local diocesan and parish custom should always guide use.

Are the cuff crosses embroidered or applied?

The crosses are directly embroidered into the cuff fabric in white thread, not patches or appliqués. They stay flat through wear and dry cleaning and do not lift at the edges over time.

How does Orbis differ from the darker blue cassocks?

Orbis is a light sky-blue cassock for Marian and seasonal use. Caelorum, Navis, and Azzuro are deeper royal blue cassocks for ordinary daily and ceremonial wear; Serenitas is a navy cassock for formal evening services.

Can I pair Orbis with white or gold stoles?

Yes. The light blue ground is intentionally chosen to harmonize with white, gold, and ivory liturgical accents commonly used at Marian feasts and baptismal liturgy.
