Description
A one-piece liturgical garment, structured like a cassock
The cassock-alb (or alb-cassock) was developed for clergy who prefer the discipline of a cassock silhouette while still using the alb at Mass. The Albion gives you a single garment with a tailored chest, structured stand collar, and a long lean line from shoulder to floor, with no separate cincture required. It is ideal when the chasuble may be lifted on and off through the day and you want a single layer that always reads as fully vested.
Signature feature: hidden Roman placket with stand collar
The off-center placket is fastened with covered shank buttons set behind a fabric flap, so the chest reads completely smooth from collar to chasuble line. The Roman stand collar finishes at exactly 1.4 inches and is interfaced to hold its shape over a clerical collar shirt. The result is a clean column of white with no visible closure – dignified, photogenic, and easy to vest over.
Tailored construction with structured front pleat
A single inverted box pleat at center front is anchored to the yoke and falls free from the upper chest, giving a clean vertical line through the body. Princess seams shape the chest without darts, the side seams are top-stitched for a tailored finish, and the hem is double-blind-stitched so it does not pucker. The result is closer in tailoring to a Roman cassock than a typical loose alb.
Wool-touch twill fabric and care
100% polyester wool-touch twill, mid-weight at approximately 220 GSM, with a soft hand and matte finish that mimics fine tropical wool. Machine wash cold on delicate, hang to dry on a wide-shoulder hanger, and steam to release any travel creases. The fabric resists wrinkles and holds liturgical white through repeated laundering.

FAQs
Is the Albion an alb or a cassock?
It is a cassock-alb – a single liturgical garment in white with the tailored shape of a cassock, designed to be worn at Mass without a separate cassock underneath.
Does it come with a cincture?
No – the tailored cut is meant to be worn without a cincture. A traditional rope cincture can be added at checkout for clergy who prefer one for the binding gesture at Mass.
Will the Roman collar fit over a clerical shirt collar?
Yes, the stand collar is sized to clear a standard 15.5-17 inch tab or band collar shirt without crowding. For thicker shirt collars, the made-to-measure option allows a 0.5 inch height increase.
Can I wear the Albion over a regular cassock?
It is designed as a substitute for cassock-plus-alb, not a layer over a cassock. For traditional alb-over-cassock vesting, please see our classic Albanor or lace-trimmed Sanctum models.
