Ornatus Roman-Cut Alb

A dark Roman alb made for the schola and the traditional altar

The 1.4 inch interfaced stand collar holds its line through long offices, and the central button placket sits behind a fabric flap so nothing breaks the dark vertical line under the surplice. Black-on-black covered shank buttons and matte top-stitching keep the closure invisible from the choir loft.

Slim straight cut for clean layering under surplice

The skirt is cut closer than a traditional gathered alb so a surplice or cotta can sit smoothly over it without billowing. Side seams run straight from underarm to hem with no flare, and the back is split with a 6 inch hidden vent so kneelers and prie-dieu work with clergy who must rise quickly between sung sections.

Matte black wool-touch fabric and care

100% polyester wool-touch suiting in deep midnight black, mid-weight at approximately 230 GSM, with a soft matte finish that does not shine under sanctuary spots. Machine wash cold on delicate, hang to dry, and steam out travel creases. Avoid hot dryers, which can dull the matte finish over time.
